Job Summary
Eterna Plc is seeking a skilled IT Officer to support and maintain its information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, security and software applications, with good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintaining reliable IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain IT hardware, software, systems and networks.
- Provide end-user IT support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and IP telephony.
- Maintain IT security systems, including antivirus, firewalls and other security software.
- Perform preventive maintenance, system upgrades and timely backups.
- Maintain accurate records of IT infrastructure, assets and software licences.
- Support the implementation of IT policies, risk management and security awareness initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance to users and help ensure the effective operation of IT systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university.
- Proven experience in IT support or administration.
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software and networks.
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience, with experience in a similar capacity being an added advantage.
- Relevant professional IT certifications are an advantage, including:
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA A+
- Other recognised professional IT certifications.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work proactively.
