Job Description
The DevOps Manager will lead and coordinate DevOps activities across software development and infrastructure teams. The successful candidate will oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable integration, automated testing and smooth deployment of applications and services.
The role will also involve managing infrastructure provisioning and configuration, monitoring system performance, establishing security and scalability practices, resolving deployment issues and mentoring DevOps engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate DevOps activities across software and infrastructure teams.
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for applications and services.
- Ensure reliable software integration, automated testing and deployment processes.
- Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Monitor system performance and support incident response and resolution.
- Establish and maintain best practices for security, scalability and system resilience.
- Collaborate with software development teams on build, release and deployment processes.
- Guide test automation and integration activities.
- Resolve deployment and infrastructure-related issues.
- Mentor DevOps engineers and support improvements in delivery speed and system stability.
- Continuously improve DevOps tools, workflows and documentation.
- Ensure processes support efficient and compliant technology operations.
Requirements
- Strong experience in software development and integration, with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams on build, release and deployment processes.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools, including configuring and optimising CI/CD pipelines across multiple applications and environments.
- Proficiency in test automation and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
- Solid experience in infrastructure management, including server provisioning, cloud or on-premise environments, configuration management, monitoring and incident response.
- Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering leadership role.
- Experience managing teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of containerisation, orchestration and modern deployment frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-availability, production-focused environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to document processes and provide clear technical guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
