The Bank is recruiting a Finance Business Partner to provide financial insights, strategic advice and performance analysis to support business growth and sound financial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Business Unit Executives to provide financial insights that drive business performance and growth.
- Act as a financial consultant on major business initiatives, new products, enhancements and strategic projects.
- Support the development and execution of business strategies by assessing financial viability and forecasting outcomes.
- Challenge assumptions and provide independent financial advice to support sound commercial decisions.
- Establish and monitor performance targets for Business Units, aligning financial objectives with operational realities.
- Analyse monthly, quarterly and annual results and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Provide in-depth business analysis and identify growth opportunities in line with budgets and performance targets.
- Support cost optimisation initiatives by evaluating expenditures and recommending efficiency improvements.
- Serve as a key point of contact between Finance and other business functions.
- Assess financial risks associated with business decisions and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with FirstBank policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment and promote sound risk management practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance processes and reporting.
- Promote the use of digital tools and automation for financial analysis, planning and reporting.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency across the Bank.
- Review macroeconomic indices and local and international economic policies that may affect business performance.
- Analyse trends in charges, interest rates and inflation rates to support budgeting and product pricing decisions.
- Review Business Unit and product data across channels, products, customer segments and locations to monitor performance.
- Facilitate the annual budgeting exercise and support effective budgetary control.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all information entrusted to the staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Partner Lead.
Requirements
- First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering.
- Master’s Degree and/or professional certification in Accounting or Finance, such as ACA, CFA or another relevant professional qualification.
- Strong financial analysis and business partnering skills.
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial performance and risk management.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams.
