Job Overview
Tilone Subsea Limited is recruiting a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join its finance team in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Tilone Subsea Limited is a marine contracting and subsea services company specialising in subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR), as well as engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC). The company was incorporated in 1993 as TILONE (NIGERIA) Limited and changed its name to Tilone Subsea Limited in 2010 to reflect its core services and values.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine and analyse accounting records, financial statements and other reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with reporting standards.
- Calculate taxes owed and prepare tax returns in line with applicable tax regulations.
- Report the company’s financial position to Management.
- Advise Management on resource utilisation, tax strategies and budget forecasts.
- Provide internal auditing services and investigate complex financial transactions.
- Prepare reports summarising financial investigations and findings.
- Represent the company before tax authorities and provide support on financial matters.
- Appraise, evaluate and maintain inventory records for real property and equipment, including their descriptions, values and locations.
- Prepare monthly salary sheets for review and approval by the Managing Director.
- Verify payment documentation and request disbursements following Management approval.
- Maintain the security of financial information through regular database backups.
- Issue pay advice to staff and the company’s subcontractors.
- Conduct authorised banking transactions on behalf of the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- ICAN certification or ACA qualification is an added advantage.
- Two to four years of proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High levels of accuracy, integrity and confidentiality.
- Must currently reside in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
- Must be 35 years of age or older.
