Job Summary

Westmead Group is recruiting a qualified, experienced, and detail-oriented Internal Auditor with experience in retail operations to monitor financial activities, assess internal controls, and ensure accountability across its business operations, particularly its supermarkets and other retail outlets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying discrepancies, preventing financial irregularities, verifying transactions, and ensuring compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of sales, expenses, inventory, cash handling, and financial records across the Group’s retail outlets.
• Verify sales records, invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other supporting documents.
• Identify financial discrepancies, stock losses, irregularities, and operational risks, and report findings to management.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with recorded balances.
• Monitor cashier activities, sales reconciliation, discounts, refunds, and cash deposits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and internal control measures.
• Prepare audit reports and recommend corrective actions to improve accountability and operational efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIA is an added advantage.
3. Relevant experience in internal auditing, particularly in retail, supermarkets, or FMCG operations, is required.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is an added advantage.
5. Strong analytical skills, integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work across multiple business locations and meet reporting deadlines.
7. Willingness to work on Saturdays.
