British American Tobacco Nigeria is recruiting to fill the position of Operations & Supply Chain Security Executive in Ibadan, Oyo State. The successful candidate will support the management of operational security across factory operations, supply chains, logistics, warehouses and port activities. The role involves identifying security risks, implementing risk mitigation measures, protecting people and high-value assets, and ensuring compliance with established security standards.
Job Summary
The Operations & Supply Chain Security Executive will coordinate and implement security measures covering factory operations, primary and secondary supply chains, port operations, import and export logistics, warehouse activities, personnel and high-value asset protection.
The role will support the Operations Security Manager in delivering cost-effective risk management through the identification of security threats, information gathering, risk assessment and implementation of approved security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage security service providers across factory operations, monitor their performance and report any observed irregularities to the Operations Security Manager.
- Review and update security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring security personnel are adequately trained and equipped to implement them in line with Group Security Risk Management (SRM) standards.
- Maintain security systems and procedures while recommending continuous improvements in line with the company’s transformation objectives.
- Support the Area Investigations Manager in conducting assessments and investigations involving breaches of the company’s Standards of Business Conduct.
- Provide security support to the commercial field force within the assigned area when required.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies and other professional security organisations to ensure effective security coordination.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to oversee end-to-end supply chain and distribution processes.
- Assess mapped transportation routes and recommend safer, cost-effective alternatives and sustainable security solutions for export logistics.
- Conduct regular physical security audits to identify vulnerabilities across factory operations, port facilities and warehouses.
- Communicate relevant security concerns to the appropriate Heads of Function.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of four years’ experience in operations security within the FMCG sector.
- Good understanding of supply chain security, high-value asset protection, risk management and mitigation.
- Strong experience in crisis and incident management, investigations and loss prevention.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to collaborate across different business functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Technical knowledge of physical security technologies and security measures.
- Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) certification.
- Valid Nigerian driver’s licence.
