Position Summary: Purchaser

Key Responsibilities:

• Calculate figures for food inventories, orders, and costs.
• Maintain clear and organized records to ensure proper filing of reports and invoices.
• Post invoices using computer programs.
• Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs.
• Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies.
• Notify manager/supervisor of low stock levels.
• Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs.
• Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy.
• Receive, unload, and process deliveries.
• Refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
• Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return process.
• Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures.
• Monitor PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels.

General Duties:

• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
• Complete safety training and certifications.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Protect company assets.
• Communicate using clear and professional language.
• Prepare and review written documents accurately.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Support team goals and listen/respond to employee concerns.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Visually verify information in various formats.
• Inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers/point of sale systems.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
• Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years’ experience in the hospitality or related professional area, or
• 4-year degree / ND/HND from an accredited university or its equivalent in Accounting, Social Sciences, or Management, or related major; 2 years’ experience in related professional area.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience:

• None required.

License or Certification:

• None required.
