Job Context
The Business Partner: People will play a key role in implementing the HR strategy within the designated department while supporting the HR Business Partner across various HR initiatives. The role covers HR administration, employee relations, change management, performance management, learning and talent acquisition, and the use of HR Information Systems to improve data reliability and generate insights.

Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Ensure adherence to HR processes and procedures relating to employee matters, including employee record updates, data changes, leave requests, benefits and disciplinary procedures.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and support employee retention.
- Participate in bi-weekly pep talks with delivery officers and workshop technicians by responding to HR-related questions.
- Promote synergy among drivers, truck mates, fleet controllers and technicians.
- Manage HR administration for full-time employees (FTEs), outsourced employees and fixed-term contract (FTC) staff, including leave, payroll and disciplinary matters.
- Support the HR team in preparing accurate information, collating and analysing data, and producing clear and meaningful reports.
- Promote key behaviours, values and organisational culture while driving good HR practices.
- Support the development and implementation of HR solutions by understanding organisational needs.
- Liaise with HR service providers to ensure effective delivery of core HR services and monitor the quality and timeliness of service provision.
- Provide monthly reports on employee turnover and talent resourcing activities.
- Ensure all pre-onboarding requirements are completed before new hires resume and ensure compliance with the induction checklist before deployment.
- Support the HR Business Partner with data required to implement initiatives that improve organisational efficiency.
- Assist with day-to-day activities and coordinate with staff to foster a harmonious work environment.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Learning and Talent Acquisition
- Work with line managers to identify training needs for the assigned work location.
- Drive the implementation of training plans for the location.
- Manage and organise learning events, physical learning locations and related documentation.
- Support learning budget tracking and follow up on invoices and payments as required.
- Communicate planned courses to target audiences.
- Assist in implementing professional development plans that enhance employees’ skills.
Business Partnering
- Assist the HR Business Partner in implementing HR strategy and ensuring HR delivery is aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure coaching, feedback and performance systems are in place to maximise workforce productivity.
- Support programmes designed to improve employee development, engagement and retention.
- Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, trends and data to drive improvements.
- Act as a change agent by influencing key stakeholders in support of organisational effectiveness.
- Provide leadership teams with HR insights, consultation and support.
- Support standard HR communications, processes and reporting for annual HR cycle activities.
- Consult with managers on effective staff assignments and workforce strategies.
- Provide cover for the HR Business Partner during periods of absence, including annual leave, study leave or short-term transfers.
Performance Management
- Drive performance cycle activities, including goal setting, mid-year reviews and end-of-year reviews, within designated locations.
- Consult with line management and provide HR guidance throughout the performance management cycle.
- Participate in year-end calibration sessions.
- Track outsourced vendor performance on a monthly basis.
- Support talent resourcing activities within the assigned business area and work with stakeholders to ensure they understand how performance management tools contribute to employee performance, engagement and retention.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or a related field.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in HR, administration or related operational roles.
- HR experience in the factory, transport or logistics sector.
- Experience in industrial relations.
- Demonstrated experience managing HR functions, administrative responsibilities and operational support, ideally in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other relevant software.
- Experience implementing HR strategies and coordinating HR functions effectively.
