Job Description

The HSE Officer will be responsible for promoting workplace health and safety, monitoring compliance with safety standards and ensuring technicians operate in a safe and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Compile and implement safety programmes.
Regularly inspect equipment and work sites to identify potential hazards.
Promote safe working techniques and practices.
Implement and maintain health and safety standards.
Establish cordial and professional relationships with employees.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
Conduct regular toolbox meetings to communicate best practices and safety procedures.
Standardise health and safety practices to ensure consistency.
Identify hazardous waste and ensure its proper disposal.
Compile and maintain relevant registers to support regulatory compliance.
Document staff information, meeting minutes and reports for management.
Ensure technicians wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
Monitor technicians to ensure compliance with established safety procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or HND qualification.
3–5 years of relevant work experience.
HSE, ISO or NEBOSH certification is an advantage.
Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.
Ability to monitor and enforce safety standards.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
