Description

Emmix Global Limited’s client is a furniture company involved in the design, manufacturing and sale of quality furniture products. The company is seeking an organised, responsible and trustworthy Storekeeper & Office Assistant to support store operations and day-to-day administrative activities.

Job Summary

The Storekeeper & Office Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of materials, tools, finished products and other inventory items, while also providing general administrative support to the office.

The successful candidate should be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in both a warehouse/store and office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Store & Inventory Management

  • Receive, inspect and record incoming materials, supplies, tools and products.
  • Issue materials to the production team based on approved requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock received, issued, returned and transferred.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform management when materials need to be replenished.
  • Organise and properly label materials and products in the store.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of wood, MDF, plywood, hardware, fabrics, foam, fittings, finishes and other furniture materials.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
  • Report damaged, missing, expired or defective materials.
  • Maintain proper documentation for stock movements.
  • Assist with periodic stocktaking and inventory audits.
  • Minimise material loss, damage and unauthorised use.
  • Keep the store clean, organised and secure.

Office Administration

  • Provide general administrative support to management and staff.
  • Receive and respond to routine enquiries from customers, suppliers and visitors.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and documents.
  • Assist with filing, photocopying, scanning, printing and organising company records.
  • Maintain office supplies and monitor their usage.
  • Assist with preparing basic reports, schedules and documents.
  • Support the preparation and organisation of meetings when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of office activities and transactions.
  • Assist other departments with administrative tasks as required.

Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with the Production, Procurement, Accounts and Sales teams.
  • Ensure materials requested by production are issued accurately and on time.
  • Assist with tracking purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Help maintain proper documentation for purchases and stock movements.
  • Report discrepancies or operational issues promptly to management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in storekeeping, inventory management, office administration or a related role.
  • Previous experience in a furniture, manufacturing, construction, retail or warehouse environment is an advantage.
  • Minimum of OND/HND in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of inventory and stock-control procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Good numerical and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of honesty, integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to handle physical store activities when required.
