Job Summary

The Mechanical Manager, Power Plant at Dangote Cement Plc is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical maintenance services within the Power Plant are carried out in accordance with established procedures, guidelines and standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Generate work orders for identified mechanical problems.
• Prioritise and assign mechanical system-related work orders to skilled maintenance personnel.
• Ensure all mechanical maintenance and repair activities comply with established procedures and standards.
• Direct assigned maintenance staff in resolving complex and difficult maintenance issues.
• Prioritise personnel safety and health during all maintenance activities.
• Ensure good housekeeping during maintenance jobs.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Power Plant Head or Section Head.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant power plant work experience, particularly in gas-based power plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance of gas turbines, air compressors, natural gas compressors, cooling towers and various types of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Knowledge of valves, firefighting systems, R.O. and water treatment plants and other related power plant equipment.
• Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Very good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Creativity and ability to think outside the box.
