Dangote Industries Limited is recruiting an experienced HSE Officer to support health, safety and environmental compliance at its Numan, Adamawa State operations.

Job Summary

The HSE Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.

The role involves conducting risk assessments, enforcing safe work practices, training employees on HSE procedures and promoting a proactive safety culture. The officer will also investigate incidents, prepare reports, recommend corrective actions and support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental sustainability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly HSE performance reports.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans.
• Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises.
• Monitor waste disposal and environmental compliance.
• Support workplace sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments for all operations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills and refresher training sessions.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe acts.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and root cause analyses.
• Monitor compliance with company HSE policies and applicable statutory requirements.

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Relevant professional certifications are required or advantageous, including:
  • NEBOSH IGC.
  • ISPON Certification.
  • OSHA Training.
  • ISO 45001 & 14001 Lead Auditor.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Membership of a recognised HSE professional body such as ISPON.
