Job Title: Finance Controller (LAGRIDE)

• Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

• Oversee the company’s accounting, financial reporting, compliance and internal control activities.
• Ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, effective financial controls and compliance with applicable regulatory and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and inventory accounting, including timely reconciliation of supporting schedules.
• Supervise the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports, ensuring timely submission to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor the company’s financial performance, cash flow, working capital and key financial indicators.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IFRS, tax, statutory and internal control requirements.
• Identify financial risks, control gaps and discrepancies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate monthly inventory counts and ensure proper reconciliation of physical and accounting records.
• Review and approve payment vouchers, sales invoices, journals and other financial documents in line with approved policies.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including preparation of required schedules and documentation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and variance reporting.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the finance and accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deliverables.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, tax authorities, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders on finance-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. A Master’s Degree/MBA is an advantage.
• ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification is an advantage.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing or finance, with experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, automotive, retail or other inventory-driven industries is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, financial analysis, internal controls and accounting/ERP systems.
