Medmax Pharmacy Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Intern Pharmacist in Lagos. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in dispensing support, patient care, inventory management and daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist.

Responsibilities

Assist with dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications under supervision.
Receive and process prescription orders, check for completeness and accuracy, and label and package medications appropriately.
Support patient counselling on medication usage, dosage and side effects.
Assist with basic health screenings, including blood pressure and blood glucose checks, as directed.
Respond to patient enquiries and refer complex clinical questions to the supervising pharmacist.
Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate medication records.
Receive, inspect and arrange pharmaceutical supplies and consumables.
Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method, and identify expired, near-expiry or damaged products.
Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliation.
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy premises, shelves and workstations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Relevant pharmacy qualifications and eligibility for an internship in accordance with applicable Nigerian pharmacy regulations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Willingness to learn and work under the supervision of experienced pharmacy professionals.
Good organisational skills and respect for patient confidentiality.
