Lafiya Jobs, Recruitment and Vacancies
Lafiya is a nonprofit organisation working to make contraception accessible to anyone who needs and wants it, regardless of where they live. Through its network of dedicated female health professionals, known as Lafiya Sisters, the organisation provides contraceptive information and services directly to communities with limited access to healthcare. Lafiya currently operates its core programme across four states in northern Nigeria, managing more than 600 Lafiya Sisters. Its community-based approach focuses on cost-effectiveness, dignity and individual choice, helping women make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
Beyond direct service delivery, Lafiya partners with government institutions to develop sustainable financing models for contraceptive procurement and address gaps in healthcare data and service delivery. The organisation has supported more than one million women through its last-mile approach. Founded in 2020, Lafiya is transitioning from a start-up to a scale-up, with a strong emphasis on measurable impact, evidence-based interventions and financial sustainability. Its work is supported by international philanthropic organisations, including GiveWell, Mulago Foundation, Dovetail Impact Foundation, The Life You Can Save and Founders Pledge.
By 2030, Lafiya aims to reach 20 million women with family planning services, expand into six countries and increase government co-payment to support long-term financial sustainability.
