Job Description
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTNN) is recruiting an Analyst – Treasury Operations to support its treasury and cash management activities. The successful candidate will monitor bank balances and cash movements, analyse financial and banking data, support investment decisions, review bank proposals, and ensure compliance with treasury policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Financial Responsibilities
- Query and verify general ledger balances relating to bank accounts.
- Monitor cash sweeps from sub-accounts to main accounts and track other bank transfers.
- Conduct bank ratio analysis and analyse risk ratings, exposure limits, cash movements, exchange rate movements, bank charges, interest rates, lending rates, and investment placements.
- Collect daily indicative quotes from banks for investment placements to support Treasury’s investment decisions.
- Ensure that payments, repayments, interest payments, and underwriting fees are processed in accordance with approved mandates.
Internal Responsibilities
- Evaluate banks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including those issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and NOTAP.
- Gather information on economic conditions, the financial environment, and changes in corporate requirements.
- Prepare management reports on market developments, competitors, and other intelligence affecting the business.
- Conduct initial reviews of bank proposals and make recommendations to the Treasury Manager.
- Provide treasury-related support to business units when required.
- Maintain treasury records and audit trails in accordance with MTN Nigeria’s policies and procedures.
- Implement treasury policies, processes, procedures, and tools for corporate cash management.
- Support year-end audits relating to treasury operations.
Customer Responsibilities
- Follow up on escalated compliance issues and complaints relating to banking service-level agreements (SLAs) and communicate feedback to the relevant customers.
Stakeholder Responsibilities
- Liaise with MTN Nigeria’s banking partners to resolve immediate service issues.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- A first degree in Accounting, Economics, or another related discipline.
- Part qualification or membership in a recognised professional accounting association, such as ACA, ACCA, or ACMA.
- Fluency in English.
Experience and Skills
- At least three years of relevant professional experience, including experience working with others.
- Experience working in a medium-sized organisation.
- Experience in a financial environment, particularly treasury, banking, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
