Job Description
MTN Nigeria Communications Plc (MTNN) is recruiting an Accountant – Finance Services and Control Technology to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management activities within its Network Group. The successful candidate will prepare and analyse operating expenditure (OPEX) budgets, monitor financial performance, prepare management reports, and identify cost optimisation opportunities to support effective financial management and business decisions.

Responsibilities
The Accountant – Finance Services and Control Technology will be responsible for the following duties:
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities for the Network Group in line with corporate objectives and financial targets.
- Prepare and analyse Network OPEX budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing actionable insights to support management decisions.
- Coordinate the consolidation, review, and reporting of Network financial performance, key cost drivers, and business assumptions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tower lease cost reports, including analysis of lease escalations, tenancy impacts, and forecast trends.
- Monitor financial risks, opportunities, and cost optimisation initiatives to improve budget performance.
- Develop and maintain Network Finance dashboards, key performance indicator (KPI) reports, and management presentations.
- Conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc business analytics to support strategic and operational initiatives.
- Collaborate with Network, TowerCo, Procurement, and Information Systems teams to ensure accurate financial planning, reporting, and data integration.
- Monitor financial operations, reconcile assigned financial accounts, and provide relevant financial analysis to support management decisions.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- A first degree in a relevant discipline.
- A professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Fluency in English.
Experience and Skills
- Three to seven years of relevant professional experience, including experience working with others.
- Experience working in a medium-sized organisation.
- Experience in the finance department of a leading organisation.
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry is desirable.
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills.
