VINCI Energies Oil & Gas is recruiting qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Crane and Lifting Equipment Specialist. This role offers an opportunity to join a major General Maintenance Contract (GMC) project in Nigeria, providing technical leadership in the inspection, maintenance, and reliability of cranes and lifting equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Job Purpose
The Crane and Lifting Equipment Specialist will provide technical and economic leadership in the inspection, maintenance, and reliability of cranes and lifting equipment. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and international safety standards while supporting offshore and onshore operations.
General Conditions

- Residential position with a rotational schedule of 12 weeks on-site and 4 weeks off

- Initial contract duration of 18 months with strong possibility of long-term extension
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability and availability of cranes and lifting equipment in line with company HSE standards.
- Provide technical authority and engineering support for cranes and lifting equipment across field operations.
- Develop preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing procedures for AKPO and EGINA cranes.
- Prepare technical specifications for new cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with international standards.
- Coordinate planned crane maintenance activities with OEMs.
- Manage crane maintenance contractors and vendor interventions.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s integrity management system.
- Liaise with classification societies, design offices, crane manufacturers, and third-party inspectors.
- Support installation, upgrades, and heavy lifting projects involving cranes.
- Lead or participate in investigations of crane-related incidents.
- Coordinate with the Inspection Department on crane-related matters.
- Supervise five-year major overhauls of offshore cranes.
- Monitor spare parts inventory with Procurement and Warehouse teams.
- Review and maintain preventive maintenance plans for cranes and hoist winches.
- Review, create, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP and establish MRP parameters.
- Ensure all lifting equipment receives required third-party certifications.
- Provide troubleshooting support to offshore sites.
- Assist Procurement with technical evaluations and clarifications.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers on crane and lifting equipment maintenance.
Accountabilities
- Ensure engineering, inspection, and maintenance activities comply with company procedures and statutory regulations.
- Deliver technical support to field operations for lifting equipment.
- Maintain equipment reliability and availability to meet production targets.
- Improve maintenance efficiency while achieving cost optimisation and operational savings.
- Ensure lifting equipment operates safely and efficiently across offshore and onshore facilities.
HSE Responsibilities
- Follow all TotalEnergies EP Nigeria emergency procedures and HSE policies.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and operational risks.
- Close downgraded situations using the SYNERGI system.
- Prepare derogation dossiers and participate in HSE audits and Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Ensure contractors comply with company HSE requirements before offshore mobilisation.
- Promote continuous HSE awareness among supervised personnel.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Minimum Second Class Upper).
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in:
- Offshore cranes.
- Hydraulic power transmission and control systems.
- Heavy machinery and lifting equipment.
- Equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, procurement, and project execution.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organisational, and team management skills.
- Knowledge of SAP or other Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Good command of the English language.
