Job Summary
The Cashier / Inventory Officer will perform a dual function by managing cash transactions and overseeing inventory activities at the branch level. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, proper stock control, transparent documentation, and efficient support for dealership and partnership operations while helping to minimise losses and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Management
- Receive customer payments through cash, POS, and bank transfers and issue accurate receipts.
- Record all daily financial transactions using approved systems and reconcile accounts at the close of business.
- Maintain accurate records of dealership and partner sales transactions.
- Keep detailed records of branch expenses with supporting documentation.
- Monitor transactions with partners such as LAPO and Grooming, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling company funds and customer financial information.
- Track sales transactions and report discrepancies to management promptly.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all stock received, issued, transferred, and sold.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile inventory records.
- Ensure all stock movements are supported by appropriate documentation, including delivery notes, stock issue forms, and transfer forms.
- Work closely with the Sales, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to maintain accurate stock balances.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely replenishment requests.
- Ensure storage areas remain clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
- Track defective or returned products and maintain proper repair and warranty records.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Engineering teams to ensure defective products are repaired and returned to customers promptly.
- Escalate financial, sales, or inventory irregularities to the Accounts Team Lead and management.
- Verify partner orders against supplied quantities.
Other Responsibilities
- Conduct reconciliation for LAPO before product disbursement.
- Maintain up-to-date sales and inventory records for audit purposes.
- Provide excellent customer service to walk-in customers, dealers, and partner representatives.
- Work with the Partnership Financial Accountant to validate payments before disbursement.
- Ensure compliance with all company financial policies and procedures.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess:
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
- Good knowledge of inventory management.
