Job Summary
Hilton Hotels and Resorts is seeking a professional and reliable Driver to join the team at Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of guests, management, team members, and hotel property while providing a high standard of customer service.
The successful candidate should have excellent knowledge of Lagos roads, demonstrate defensive driving practices, and maintain the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport hotel guests, management, team members, and hotel property as assigned.
- Operate hotel vehicles in a safe, courteous, and professional manner.
- Comply with all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
- Provide airport transfers, guest pickups, and drop-offs according to hotel schedules.
- Welcome guests warmly and assist with loading and unloading luggage.
- Provide appropriate information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions when required.
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and good condition of assigned vehicles.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects, accidents, incidents, or maintenance needs immediately.
- Ensure vehicle licences, insurance, permits, and other required documentation remain valid.
- Monitor fuel levels and coordinate vehicle servicing and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, journeys, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure guests and hotel property are transported securely.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning guest information, hotel operations, and management movements.
- Observe and report security, safety, or suspicious incidents encountered during assignments.
- Support emergency response activities when directed by hotel management.
- Follow all hotel safety and security procedures.
- Assist other departments with transportation-related requirements when necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with Front Office, Concierge, Security, and other hotel departments.
- Complete all driving assignments promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Hilton grooming standards.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Interested candidates should possess:
- High School qualification or equivalent.
- Valid Nigerian Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience.
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, corporate, or luxury service environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of Lagos roads, routes, traffic regulations, and surrounding areas.
- Valid medical fitness certificate.
- Strong understanding of safe and defensive driving practices.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good English communication skills; knowledge of an additional local language is an advantage.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
- Good personal grooming and presentation.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to identify mechanical problems.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
