Job Overview
The DTM Project Assistant will provide administrative and project support for the implementation of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) project in Nigeria. The role involves supporting project activities, data management, reporting, budget monitoring, coordination, meetings, workshops and other administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarise and present project-related information and data.
- Monitor budgets, verify funding availability and update budget information.
- Support administrative coordination and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft status reports and highlight project delivery challenges.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes, statistical tables and presentations.
- Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to information requests and maintain project files and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field.
- Alternatively, a diploma with four years of relevant professional experience in a related field.
- Minimum of four years’ experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
- Minimum of four years’ experience with statistical tools, reporting and liaison with government authorities, preferably in the humanitarian sector.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in humanitarian emergencies.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in West Africa.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Knowledge of local languages is desirable.
- Experience with humanitarian organisations, NGOs, government institutions or international organisations is an advantage.
- Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Good communication, organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, multitask and maintain confidentiality.
Project Reporting
The role will report to the DTM Programme Officer and work closely with the DTM Senior Programme Associate.
Team Management
This position has no team management responsibility.
