Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily construction activities and site operations.
- Manage Site Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, subcontractors and other site personnel.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities meet approved schedules and milestones.
- Ensure construction works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and approved methodologies.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractors to maintain efficient site operations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical, operational and construction issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Monitor workmanship and coordinate inspections, testing, snagging and corrective works.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, consultants, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project risks, delays and resource requirements.
- Monitor costs, minimise wastage and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate project completion, testing, snagging, documentation and handover.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology or a related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant construction experience, including experience in a senior site management role.
- Proven experience managing construction teams, subcontractors, schedules and multiple work fronts.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, quality standards and HSE requirements.
- Good leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
