Job Summary
The Maintenance Controller will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, preventive maintenance and optimal performance of all production assets. The role involves providing technical leadership, managing maintenance activities and ensuring that production equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
The successful candidate will provide direct supervision to Shift Maintenance Engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the reliability and optimal performance of production assets.
- Develop and coordinate preventive maintenance activities for production equipment.
- Supervise and provide technical direction to Shift Maintenance Engineers.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
- Support effective maintenance planning and execution.
- Work closely with production and other cross-functional teams to minimise equipment downtime.
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with established standards.
- Identify recurring equipment problems and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and asset performance.
- Provide leadership and technical support to the maintenance team.
Requirements
- B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in engineering and maintenance roles.
- Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), COREN certification, or CMRP certification is required.
- Strong experience in maintenance management, equipment reliability and preventive maintenance.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with production and other cross-functional teams.
