Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and inventory records across branches and locations.
- Ensure financial records relating to stock, inventory, customer purchases, debts, and other customer details are properly updated.
- Handle customer account reconciliations and accounts receivable.
- Escalate potential risks relating to high customer debt profiles and other financial discrepancies to management.
- Analyse trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to support revenue and expense forecasts.
- Prepare financial reports for management and provide recommendations on resource utilisation, tax strategies, and budget forecasts.
- Conduct debtor and ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor and reconcile financial and transactional discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Track outstanding payments and recovery processes.
- Analyse financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Collaborate with treasury and finance teams on financial operations.
- Prepare and post journal entries and account adjustments.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of all assigned accounts.
- Substantiate financial transactions by reviewing and auditing supporting documents.
- Ensure accurate capturing of sales records, debts, and customer details.
- Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements and advise management on necessary actions.
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through relevant training, publications, workshops, and professional networks.
