FIN Insurance Company Limited has a storied history and a steadfast commitment to adapting and evolving within the insurance industry. The company was incorporated on April 24, 1981, under the name Yankari Company Limited, as a limited liability company wholly owned by the Bauchi State Government. We were registered as a licensed insurer in 1982 and officially began operations on January 1, 1983.
In 2008, a significant transformation took place when Finbank Plc acquired the company, leading to a rebranding as FIN Insurance Company Limited. This marked the start of a new chapter in our journey. The evolution continued in 2012 when Finbank was taken over by First City Monument Bank (FCMB), resulting in FIN Insurance becoming part of the FCMB Group.
Further transformation occurred in 2014 when FIN Insurance was acquired by Cornerstone Insurance Plc, with Capital Alliance Private Equity III Limited as a key partner. This acquisition, ratified and approved by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) in 2015, integrated us into the Cornerstone Group, signifying a significant milestone in our development.
Today, FIN Insurance is supported by strong global reinsurance arrangements with both foreign and local reinsurers. We are dedicated to continually evolving and reinventing ourselves to maintain our relevance and excellence in the ever-changing insurance landscape.
