Job Responsibilities
- Prioritise the safety of personnel and equipment during daily terminal operations.
- Report safety risks, near misses, and incidents in line with company procedures.
- Review and approve vessel operation plans.
- Coordinate housekeeping activities to optimise terminal operations.
- Monitor and synchronise vessel plans and operational recaps.
- Optimise vessel, yard, and gate operations in collaboration with planners.
- Coordinate loading and discharge activities according to operational requirements.
- Maximise Container Handling Equipment (CHE) utilisation and productivity.
- Prepare equipment movement plans, including RTGs, Empty Handlers, and Reach Stackers.
- Analyse operational performance and report deviations.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders within the control room.
- Support continuous, uninterrupted terminal operations.
- Prepare comprehensive shift handover reports.
- Identify operational improvements and contribute to process optimisation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in vessel planning, yard planning, housekeeping, or terminal operations.
- Appropriate academic qualification relevant to the role.
- Strong knowledge of terminal control room processes and operational procedures.
- Experience using Navis Suite, Microsoft Office, and other relevant operational systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-changing environment.
- Familiarity with Lean principles is an added advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to operational emergencies when required.
