The Domestic Network Control Group Agent will support internal and external customers by providing information and services related to domestic network operations. The role involves carrying out network and administrative activities to process inbound and outbound shipments, provide shipment information and ensure materials move efficiently within required timeframes.

The successful candidate will also support the loading, sorting, dispatch and recovery of shipments while ensuring compliance with DHL procedures, safety standards, security requirements and applicable government and airline regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with LOS Hub, Gateway, Sales, Customer Service, Service teams, domestic airlines, agents and third-party transportation providers.
  • Ensure shipments do not miss cut-off times for domestic road, domestic network and commercial flight movements.
  • Coordinate timely departure and arrival of domestic network flights at Lagos Airport and vans operating to and from destinations across West Africa.
  • Support operations during aircraft-on-ground (AOG) situations and commercial airline departure delays.
  • Ensure compliance with DHL network standards, health and safety requirements, security procedures and applicable government and airline regulations.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external customer queries.
  • Disseminate domestic network and commercial flight information in a timely manner to improve operational visibility.
  • Transfer and recover shipments from commercial airlines, agencies, third-party trucks and other transportation partners.
  • Send pre-alerts for shipments dispatched to different stations and agencies and confirm receipt of materials.
  • Prepare and submit required DHL network reports, including NMIV, NOTOC and left-over reports.
  • Recover shipments that cannot connect to scheduled domestic flights or are affected by AOG situations and prepare them for alternative movement.
  • Process shipments promptly to ensure agreed transit times are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed service contingency and recovery plans.
  • Carry out administrative duties and provide operational support to the Domestic Network Control Group.
  • Work with team members to complete daily operational activities.
  • Ensure shipments are available to shuttle drivers upon arrival and secure left-over materials according to security procedures.
  • Process inbound and outbound materials in line with current processes and procedures.
  • Capture and provide shipment, piece and handling-unit information required by the network according to standard procedures.
  • Keep the process area clean, organised and ready for the next operational cycle.
  • Ensure relevant operational equipment is functioning properly and take corrective action when equipment fails or falls below required standards.
  • Develop knowledge of other Operations roles to support rotational shift activities.
  • Ensure Dangerous Goods are properly handed over at the distribution centre and prevent hidden Dangerous Goods from being accepted for carriage.
  • Wear the standard company uniform during operational periods.
  • Perform other duties required to support the Domestic Network Control Group.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a DHL operations-related role or within the transportation and logistics industry.
  • OND or equivalent qualification.
