Job Summary
Wellspring College is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Teacher to join its academic team in Lagos. The successful candidate will deliver engaging English Language lessons, inspire students to develop an appreciation for language and literature, and support their academic and personal development.
The teacher will be expected to work effectively within both the Nigerian and British curricula while upholding the college’s values and educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English Language lessons in line with the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Assess, monitor and report on students’ academic progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and effective learning.
- Collaborate with teachers across departments to support students’ overall development.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, school events and continuous professional development programmes.
- Maintain accurate academic records and complete administrative responsibilities within stipulated deadlines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English Education or a related field. A relevant teaching qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ teaching experience in a standard secondary school.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively within both the Nigerian and British curricula.
- Strong commitment to continuous professional development.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and classroom management skills.
- Good time management and organisational abilities.
- Ability to effectively use technology to support teaching and learning.
- Genuine commitment to Wellspring College’s mission, values and ethos.
