Key Responsibilities

Safely operate hydraulic excavators, including 360-degree excavators, for excavation, grading, trenching and demolition activities.
Clear land and excavate foundations for buildings, as well as trenches for pipes and cables.
Conduct daily pre-operational inspections, including checking oil, fuel and fluid levels.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs to keep the excavator in good working condition.
Load, move and lift heavy materials such as dirt, rocks and debris with precision.
Read blueprints and survey markers to ensure excavation is carried out at the required depth, slope and location.
Work closely with ground crew, signalers and site supervisors to maintain a safe and efficient workflow, particularly when operating in restricted spaces.

Requirements

3 – 4 years of experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery.
Good understanding of hydraulic equipment and basic machinery maintenance.
Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided systems used for precision excavation.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to sit and operate machinery for extended periods.
Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and safe handling of underground utilities.
