Job Summary
The Finance Intern will support the implementation of company accounts onto an accounting system. The role involves recording trading activities, reviewing financial records and helping to establish an accurate trading position through the review of Trial Balances, Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss statements, General Ledgers and aged debtor reports.
The successful candidate will work as part of a project team of accountants and support various accounting implementation activities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconcile various company accounts within an implementation project.
- Review and implement ledgers covering assets, liabilities, income, expenses and equity.
- Provide accurate financial information to support management decision-making.
- Monitor and review creditors and debtors ledgers.
- Support the implementation of accounting records and systems.
- Review financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Key Performance Indicators
- Quality, adequacy and accuracy of documentation.
- Accuracy of reconciliation documentation.
- Timeliness and accuracy of management reports.
- Strong experience using spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate qualification in Accountancy.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a project team of accountants.
