Job Summary
The Head of Revenue Management & Pricing is responsible for maximising passenger revenue, yield, load factor, and overall network profitability through effective pricing, inventory control, forecasting, demand optimisation, and revenue management strategies. Working closely with commercial and operational teams, the successful candidate will drive data-driven decisions that enhance airline profitability across domestic, regional, and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies across all markets.
- Monitor competitor pricing and recommend fare adjustments based on market demand.
- Develop seasonal pricing strategies and manage promotional fares while protecting revenue.
- Ensure fare integrity across all sales channels and approve fare filings through ATPCO where applicable.
- Produce accurate passenger demand and revenue forecasts.
- Analyse booking trends and recommend tactical commercial actions.
- Monitor seasonal demand shifts and develop predictive revenue models.
- Manage booking class availability and optimise cabin inventory.
- Implement overbooking policies to maximise seat utilisation while reducing spoilage and spill.
- Ensure inventory management aligns with the airline’s commercial strategy.
- Monitor competitor schedules, pricing, market share, and customer buying behaviour.
- Prepare competitive intelligence reports and identify new market opportunities.
- Monitor route profitability and recommend schedule, frequency, aircraft, and capacity adjustments.
- Develop recovery strategies for underperforming routes.
- Optimise the use of Revenue Management systems, including HITIT and related commercial platforms.
- Work with Commercial Systems to improve automation, reporting dashboards, and forecasting accuracy.
- Collaborate with Network Planning, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations Control Centre, Airport Services, Flight Operations, Customer Experience, Digital Sales, and Loyalty teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly commercial performance reports, including revenue dashboards, yield reports, booking curve analysis, pricing reviews, and route profitability reports.
- Recommend fare adjustments, inventory changes, promotional pricing, schedule optimisation, and revenue improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Aviation Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree, MBA, or Aviation Management qualification is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications such as IATA Revenue Management, IATA Pricing, IATA Airline Business Foundation, ATPCO Pricing, or Airline Revenue Optimisation certification are preferred.
- 8–10 years of airline commercial experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in Revenue Management.
- Minimum of 3 years managing airline pricing.
- Experience with airline inventory management systems.
- Hands-on experience with HITIT, Sabre, Amadeus, Navitaire, or similar airline systems.
- Strong knowledge of revenue management, yield management, forecasting, demand modelling, route profitability, and network economics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, GDS distribution, ATPCO, and revenue reporting is desirable.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making abilities.
