The ICT Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and maintaining all aspects of the school’s ICT infrastructure.
The role includes ensuring seamless digital operations, secure data management, classroom technology setup, internet and network stability, device and software management, digital identity systems and ongoing technical support for staff, faculty and students.
The successful candidate must be proactive, solutions-driven and capable of aligning IT operations with the school’s academic and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
ICT Infrastructure Design and Development
- Design and implement a scalable ICT infrastructure to support academic delivery and administrative operations.
Weekend Class Technology Setup
- Ensure seamless technology support during weekend classes.
- Set up and maintain projectors, laptops, audio systems, video conferencing equipment and power backup systems.
Internet and Network Management
- Manage stable, secure and high-speed internet connectivity.
- Maintain internal wired and wireless network systems.
Device Management
- Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers and biometric systems.
Software Installation and Maintenance
- Install, update and manage licensed software, including Office Suite, Zoom, LMS and antivirus applications.
Learning Management System
- Support the setup, customization and ongoing management of the school’s e-learning platforms.
Digital Identity and Access Management
- Create and manage institutional email accounts.
- Manage user access controls and internal authentication systems.
ID Card Management
- Oversee the creation and printing of student and staff ID cards.
- Maintain and update ID card databases.
ICT Policy and Data Security
- Develop and enforce ICT policies covering data usage, access control, data backups and cybersecurity.
Technical Support
- Provide daily helpdesk support to students and staff.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues.
ICT Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with ICT service providers, including internet providers, hardware suppliers and software vendors.
Digital Tools and Innovations
- Recommend and implement modern digital tools, including AI tools, automation, digital forms and e-signature platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve academic and administrative workflows through technology.
SIM Card and Call Card Management
- Manage SIM cards and airtime/data distribution for staff and operational devices.
- Ensure timely top-ups, usage tracking and cost control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ICT support or systems administration.
- Knowledge of computer networks, systems, software installation and end-user support.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, cloud tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, and cybersecurity tools.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage ICT budgets, vendors and communication tools, including SIM cards and airtime.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings when required.
