About Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD)
The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD Nigeria) is a professional, membership-based organisation focused on promoting good corporate governance, developing directors and business leaders, and representing the interests of its members. Founded on 17 May 1983, the Institute has played a longstanding role in advancing professional standards of directorship and governance practices across Nigeria’s public and private sectors.
CIoD Nigeria supports the continuous development of directors through professional training, director development programmes, information sharing, networking and governance resources. Its programmes are designed to strengthen leadership, board effectiveness, strategic thinking, ethical conduct and corporate governance capabilities. (CIOD Nigeria) The Institute also serves as an advocacy platform, engaging government, regulators, businesses and other stakeholders on issues relating to corporate governance, leadership and economic development. Its membership comprises business leaders and directors from a wide range of sectors in both the public and private sectors.
