Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and financial reports.
- Ensure financial records comply with accounting standards and reporting procedures.
- Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure timely tax remittances to the relevant authorities.
- Analyse business operations, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to support financial planning.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain and update the company’s fixed asset schedule.
- Develop, monitor, and analyse budgets, comparing budgeted costs with actual expenditures.
- Assess accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance.
- Participate fully in monthly and annual stock-taking exercises.
- Prepare product costing and cost price calculations.
- Support internal and external audit activities, including engagements with LIRS and FIRS.
- Carry out special financial investigations and assignments as directed by management.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Hands-on experience using accounting software such as Sage and QuickBooks.
- Strong experience with general ledger functions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
