Job Summary:
The Legal Counsel will provide legal support for oil and gas operations, manage compliance, handle transaction structuring, and draft/review legal documents. The role involves overseeing litigation and coordinating with external legal counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on transaction structuring and oil/gas operations
- Counsel on capital markets transactions and negotiations
- Draft and review legal documents
- Manage litigation and external legal counsel coordination
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Law or Juris Doctor, Nigerian Law School and Bar membership required. Master’s in Law is a plus.
- 8+ years in legal support for oil/gas operations; 2 years in a law firm beneficial; experience with the Nigerian legal system and oil/gas sector.
- Excellent communication, corporate law knowledge (Nigeria & US), legislative knowledge, time management, contract management, MS Office proficiency.
- High integrity, professional ethics, sound judgment, attention to detail, flexibility, reliability, team player.
