Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Logistics Officer, the Logistics Assistant will support the maintenance of PUI equipment, facilities, and installations while ensuring the smooth operation of logistics activities. The role also involves supporting inventory management, storage operations, procurement documentation, and routine maintenance of office premises.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management

  • Codify all PUI equipment according to organisational procedures.
  • Record equipment in the equipment follow-up register.
  • Regularly inspect equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Report equipment faults to the Logistics Officer.
  • Ensure printers, scanners, and water dispensers remain operational.
  • Assist with equipment distribution.
  • Support the loading and unloading of goods and materials.
  • Monitor generator fluid levels and report any issues.
  • Refuel generators or assist security guards with fueling.
  • Collect stationery requests from departments.
  • Distribute stationery supplies.
  • Notify the supervisor when stationery stock requires replenishment.

Storage Management

  • Support communication related to store operations.
  • Ensure adequate storage space is available.
  • Report delays or discrepancies in incoming and outgoing deliveries.
  • Request daily labourers when required.
  • Assist with monthly and annual stock counts.
  • Reconcile inventory records with physical stock and submit reports to the Logistics Officer.

Premises Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections of PUI facilities.
  • Report maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on offices, warehouses, stores, and health facilities.
  • Assist in maintaining fire extinguishers, sand buckets, and other safety equipment.
  • Ensure spare keys are properly stored.
  • Ensure perimeter security measures, including barbed wire, are maintained.
  • Support specialised technicians during maintenance work when necessary.

Department Priorities

  • Plan and implement maintenance activities in line with PUI procedures.
  • Improve preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with PUI logistics tools, systems, and procedures.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant work experience.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a monthly salary of ₦392,703.
