Manager – Business Planning and Performance, Marketing NG

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos, South West Region, Nigeria
Reports To: Senior Manager – Business Planning Reporting and Pricing
Division: Marketing

MTN Nigeria

Mission:

  • Manage and coordinate business planning, performance reporting, and financial projections for all MTNN commercial and technology investments
  • Manage the MTN budget year process (revenue to gross margin), monthly forecast, and budget variance analysis
  • Oversee the performance reporting of the business (Ops Review, Competitive Benchmark Reports)

Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure quality drivers and assumptions for business plans are correctly applied to the process and forecasting scenarios
  • Evaluate the MTNN business plan with an understanding of the telecommunications industry and anticipate future developments
  • Review MTNN revenue and financial planning models, provide market share estimates, and develop three-year revenue and financial projections
  • Monitor trends in the telecommunications industry and provide insights into issues and events that could impact MTNN operations and services
  • Continuously develop and integrate data from diverse sources to guide strategic plans and decision processes within the Marketing Division
  • Maintain a database of records and information relevant to the telecommunications industry to optimize MTNN business activities
  • Collaborate with other business units to develop business models and frameworks that support decisions, planning, and performance reporting
  • Coach and train the team, ensuring they understand departmental objectives, goals, and targets
  • Regularly review individual team members’ performance and conduct appraisals in accordance with MTNN procedures

Education and Experience:

  • First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics/Mathematics
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related discipline is an added advantage
  • Fluent in English
  • 6–13 years of experience, including:
    • Minimum of 3 years in budgets and forecasts, business performance reporting, data analytics
    • Experience in supervising or managing others
    • Experience in hands-on accounting and financial forecasting
    • Strong ability to develop conclusions and recommendations from complex data sets
