The Bridge for Women Development Initiative (BOWDI), formerly known as Borno Women Development Initiative, is a pioneering Nigerian organisation focused on advancing the rights, welfare and empowerment of women and girls.
Headquartered in Maiduguri, Borno State, with a liaison office in Abuja and field offices in Adamawa, Yobe and Sokoto States, BOWDI implements community-led programmes covering protection, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, mitigation and response, food security, livelihoods and education.
The organisation works across Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Sokoto, Zamfara and Katsina States, promoting social justice, empowerment, education, violence prevention, sustainable development and community resilience.
