Job Summary
The MHC Maintenance Supervisor will plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance activities for Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient container handling operations. The successful candidate will lead maintenance teams, improve equipment reliability, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of Mobile Harbour Cranes, spreaders, and auxiliary systems.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OEM standards, statutory regulations, and terminal procedures.
- Prioritise and resolve defects identified during statutory inspections.
- Plan manpower, spare parts, tools, and maintenance schedules to minimise equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Lead and supervise crane technicians, electricians, and mechanics.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and preventive maintenance performance.
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic crane systems.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and external service providers during complex maintenance activities.
- Manage spare parts inventory while ensuring the availability of critical components.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Kaizen, and process optimisation.
- Collaborate with operations, planning, maintenance, and safety teams to improve terminal performance.
Requirements
Candidates should possess:
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Good knowledge of Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- Proficiency in Siemens STEP 7 SIMATIC Manager and related applications.
- Experience working with Siemens SINAMICS drives.
- Experience developing and implementing maintenance programmes.
- Knowledge of spare parts criticality management and asset maintenance planning.
- Good understanding of safety regulations applicable to terminal, port, or industrial operations.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as IFS, SAP PM, or similar software.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
