Job Description
Blue Phoenix Deepwater Limited is recruiting an experienced Payable Accountant to manage project supplier and subcontractor obligations accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with procurement, contract and payment controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review and process supplier, subcontractor and service-provider invoices.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, contracts, service entries, delivery documents and approved rates.
- Maintain accurate vendor accounts and reconcile supplier statements.
- Record and monitor advances, deposits, retentions and other vendor balances.
- Prepare payment schedules based on approved invoices, contractual due dates, cash availability and payment priorities.
- Provide information on upcoming supplier obligations to support project cash-flow forecasting.
- Reconcile key vendor accounts and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Maintain complete records of payment approvals and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement, finance and project payment procedures.
- Collaborate with other project teams to support efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
- 3–6 years of relevant accounts payable or project accounting experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, offshore, marine or project environments is preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, professional discipline and sound judgement.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
