Responsibilities
The Procurement Officer will receive approved purchase requests, confirm specifications with requesting departments and identify reliable suppliers. The role involves obtaining and comparing quotations based on price, quality and delivery terms, negotiating favourable prices and payment conditions, and securing the necessary approvals before making purchases.
The successful candidate will coordinate purchasing, transportation and delivery of supplies to the farm site. They will work with the Storekeeper to verify delivered items and resolve shortages, damaged goods and supplier discrepancies.
Other responsibilities include maintaining accurate supplier records, purchase orders, invoices and procurement reports, reconciling purchases and payments with the Finance team, and monitoring recurring supply requirements and market prices to prevent shortages and unnecessary expenditure.
Requirements
Applicants must possess an OND, HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration or a related field. At least two years of relevant procurement experience is required, while agricultural-sector experience will be an advantage.
Candidates should have good knowledge of suppliers and markets in Ibadan and surrounding areas, alongside strong negotiation, recordkeeping and basic spreadsheet skills. High integrity, attention to detail and willingness to travel to the Siwaju Farm Site when required are also essential.
