Myrtle Management Consultants is recruiting a Radio Operator on behalf of its client, an oil and gas drilling services company providing onshore and offshore drilling, well construction, rig operations and related support services to the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor marine, aviation and rig communication systems.
- Maintain continuous communication with vessels, helicopters, shore bases and relevant authorities.
- Receive and transmit operational and emergency messages accurately.
- Maintain communication logs and records.
- Monitor emergency and distress communication channels.
- Support helicopter and vessel movement coordination.
- Disseminate weather, operational and safety information as required.
- Test and maintain communication equipment.
- Report equipment faults and coordinate repairs.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive communications.
- Support emergency response and mustering activities.
- Comply with applicable communication and radio operating procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of OND or NCE in Telecommunications, Radio Communications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Radio Operator, preferably in marine, offshore or oil and gas operations.
- Relevant radio communication certification or licence as required by applicable regulations.
- Knowledge of marine and/or aviation communication procedures is an advantage.
- Experience operating VHF, HF, UHF and other communication systems.
- Valid offshore safety certification and medical fitness where applicable.
