Mission:

The Senior Manager: Technical Accounting will ensure financial integrity, compliance, and transparency for the respective Opco by adhering to accounting standards. The role plays a pivotal role in maintaining accurate and consistent financial reporting through meticulous reviews. Key responsibilities include developing robust accounting policies, conducting post-implementation reviews of new standards, and providing timely guidance and training on regulatory changes.

Description:

• Conduct detailed IFRS disclosure and presentation reviews for financial statements.
• Stay updated on accounting pronouncements and communicate their impact.
• Review contracts for revenue recognition implications.
• Provide guidance on complex technical accounting scenarios.
• Develop and update accounting policies and procedures.
• Complete post-implementation reviews of new accounting standards.
• Ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
• Conduct in-depth research on accounting issues.
• Prepare technical memos documenting conclusions.
• Provide input on accounting implications for board committee submissions.
• Participate in strategic meetings and provide relevant guidance.
• Drive risk mitigation and control efforts.
• Escalate critical issues to Opco CFO and group technical accounting team.
• Request budgets for internal projects.

Education:

• Fluent in English
• Postgraduate degree in accounting or related field
• Chartered Accountant qualification

Experience:

• 9–17 years’ experience in accounting.
• Minimum 5 years in technical accounting (big four audit firm or large corporate).
• Experience in financial reporting.
• Familiarity with financial accounting concepts for public companies.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, specifically in telecom.
• Track record of leading technical accounting teams.
• Experience in guiding finance teams on complex technical matters.
• Monitoring and interpreting accounting standard changes.
• Telecom industry and financial services experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in conducting technical accounting research and preparing position papers.
• Experience in training on IFRS standards.
