About the Role

The State Inventory Officer is responsible for managing the inventory of POS devices across the region, ensuring accurate tracking, secure storage and efficient distribution.

The role plays a critical part in operational success by validating serial numbers, monitoring stock levels, resolving inventory discrepancies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless supply chain execution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of POS devices, including stock levels, locations and serial numbers.
  • Monitor inventory to identify stock shortages and coordinate timely replenishment.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits to reconcile physical stock with logical inventory.
  • Verify the accuracy of serial numbers for all received POS devices against corresponding records.
  • Communicate discrepancies promptly to relevant stakeholders, execute corrective actions and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and logical inventory.
  • Implement corrective measures to prevent future inventory errors and improve overall accuracy.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales and warehouse teams to optimise inventory operations.
  • Communicate inventory status, availability and concerns effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional operational tasks as delegated and assigned by the State Coordinator.

  • Zero downtime in distribution caused by unmanaged stock shortages.
  • Rapid and thorough resolution of physical versus logical inventory discrepancies.

Experience and Background

  • OND, HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or related operational roles.

Skills and Competencies

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong ability to reconcile inventory discrepancies and identify process improvements.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry, record-keeping and serial tracking.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, handle multiple operational demands and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills across teams.
