Bell Oil and Gas Limited is currently recruiting a qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Supply Chain Manager.

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for ensuring the procurement of the right materials at the right price, from the right suppliers, and delivering them in the right quality, quantity, and time to meet client and project requirements. The role reports directly to the General Manager – Supply Chain and Business Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s supply chain strategy in line with business objectives.
  • Lead procurement activities including sourcing, RFQ issuance, bid evaluation, negotiations, purchase order processing, and contract administration.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and other key suppliers.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment for projects.
  • Manage international sourcing, importation, customs clearance, shipping, and local logistics.
  • Negotiate favourable commercial terms to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
  • Develop supplier performance evaluation and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, corporate governance standards, and NCDMB requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to support tenders and project execution.
  • Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team.
  • Oversee implementation of supply chain processes and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Coordinate all supply chain operations efficiently.
  • Drive Line Pipes and OCTG sourcing and management activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing local and international suppliers while developing alternative sourcing options.
  • Develop technical expertise to validate Nigerian Customs claims and duty computations.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases of OEMs, accredited distributors, stockists, equipment suppliers, customs clearing agents, and trucking companies.
  • Support major tenders and service contracts.
  • Maintain productive relationships with relevant government regulatory agencies.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage through supply chain excellence.
  • Oversee timely customs clearance and delivery of imported goods.
  • Ensure staff training and continuous professional development.
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships and ensure goods are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Achieve and exceed RFQ conversion targets.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and maintain proper documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure record management systems.
  • Supervise and manage all supply chain personnel.
  • Coordinate supply chain meetings.
  • Conduct procurement market research.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage supplier relationships both locally and internationally.
  • Control inventory and oversee supply chain projects.
  • Ensure ISO compliance across supply chain processes.
  • Conduct staff performance appraisals and provide regular feedback.
  • Manage trucking logistics and oversee validation of goods and documentation.
  • Expedite purchase orders and provide feedback to suppliers on submitted quotations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, APICS/ASCM, or equivalent are desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years continuous experience in supply chain or procurement.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership position within the upstream oilfield services sector.
  • Proven experience managing international procurement and complex logistics operations.
  • Experience supporting major EPC, IOC, or oilfield service projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement requirements within Exploration & Production (E&P) companies.
  • Strong purchase order management and goods validation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Nigerian port clearing procedures and customs processes.
  • Strong negotiation and long-range procurement planning skills.
  • Experience in trucking logistics management.
  • Excellent international sourcing capability.
  • Strong documentation, receiving, inspection, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for delivering results.
  • Excellent RFQ processing and online bidding skills.
  • Proficiency in Nigerian Customs tariff usage.
  • Experience in expediting orders and inventory management.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills.
