The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations through accurate receiving, storage, picking, loading and dispatch of inventory. The role focuses on proper stock handling, inventory accuracy, housekeeping, safety compliance and adherence to established warehouse procedures to support efficient depot operations and customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, verify and properly store incoming inventory in accordance with approved warehouse procedures.
• Pick, pack, stage and support the loading of customer orders accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Verify stock quantities, item details, batch information and product condition during inbound and outbound activities.
• Support daily cycle counts, stock counts and inventory reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Ensure products are stored in designated locations and arranged according to approved stacking and storage standards.
• Apply First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principles and stock rotation requirements during storage, replenishment and picking activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A minimum of an OND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Zero to two years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management or a related field.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management and stock handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when carrying out assigned tasks.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Experience in an FMCG, manufacturing, logistics or distribution environment is an added advantage.
