Job Summary

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for managing stock movements, inventory activities, storekeeping and general housekeeping within the warehouse.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage all stock movements within the warehouse.
• Arrange and store materials and spare parts properly in the appropriate containers.
• Dispatch materials and spare parts as required by vessels.
• Report unavailable items and follow up on outstanding Purchase Requests.
• Keep stock movements updated in Oracle.
• Archive and store all physical documentation relating to warehouse stock movements.
• Participate in spot and annual inventory counts.
• Collect used spare parts from vessels and re-dispatch them to the appropriate technical teams for overhauling.
• Properly arrange overhauled spare parts in the designated warehouse areas.
• Reduce waste of spare parts and minimise the unnecessary use of new spare parts.
• Maintain the tidiness of the warehouse, containers and jetty areas.
• Ensure orderly arrangement of materials and maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of containers and the warehouse floor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Coordinate and maintain materials and equipment assigned to the Warehouse Unit.
• Comply with health, safety and basic maintenance standards.

Requirements

• BSc or HND in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Professional certification in Warehousing or another related discipline is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in warehousing, stock management and/or supply chain.
• Experience in the marine and logistics industry is preferred.
