Job Purpose

To operationalise the company’s warehouse and delivery processes and ensure that deliverables and outputs are aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of stock picked for shipment.
• Ensure zero stock losses in the warehouse and while in transit to production units, regional warehouse hubs and stores.
• Monitor adherence to health, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Ensure receipt of goods in line with purchase order specifications or instructions from the Supply Chain Division.
• Apply appropriate asset management procedures to achieve maximum return on assets.
• Continuously evaluate warehouse security and implement necessary measures to maintain stock safety.
• Develop preventive maintenance systems and contingency plans.
• Support the loading and offloading of stocks in the warehouse.
• Escort stocks to defined destinations and ensure issuance is in accordance with the waybill and invoice.
• Participate in cycle counting and monthly stock count activities.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within the assigned work area.
• Provide regular updates on stock positions as required.
• Generate picklists based on requisitions from various business units.
• Update bin cards based on shipments of stock items to different business units.
• Update bin cards for items received into the warehouse.

• Knowledge of warehouse management procedures and best practices.
• Knowledge of warehouse management software and databases.

Educational Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is required.

Professional Requirements

• Possession of any relevant professional certification is essential.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Decision Expectations

• Manage warehouse operations in compliance with company policies and vision.
• Maintain required standards of health, safety and hygiene.

Working Conditions

• The role typically involves working more than 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some weekend or evening work may be required.
• The position is both office- and warehouse-based and involves occasional physical activities, including lifting stock items weighing over 10kg when necessary and walking around the warehouse to ensure effective monitoring.
