Job Summary
The Wireline Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and servicing mechanical and cable systems to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of wireline equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and service mechanical and cable systems used in wireline operations.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of wireline equipment.
- Ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out appropriate maintenance activities.
- Use technical manuals and schematics to support maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Utilise maintenance management systems to document and track equipment maintenance.
- Carry out testing using appropriate electrical and mechanical test equipment.
- Support base maintenance activities and ensure high standards of service quality.
- Follow established safety, maintenance, and operational procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience with a proven record of quality service.
- Experience working with mechanical systems, transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering schematics.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as multimeters and megameters.
- Candidates with wireline experience who are interested in transitioning into a base maintenance role are encouraged to apply.

- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
