2025 Young Graduate Immersion Program in ECOWAS Institutions

CONTEXT
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is launching the Young Graduate Immersion Program for the 2025 batch. This program is designed for young graduates from ECOWAS Member States who are aged 32 years or younger.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Overall Objective:
The program aims to contribute to the professional integration of young graduates by providing them with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of ECOWAS programs while also contributing to the efficiency of these programs.
Specific Objectives:
- Provide immersion opportunities within the services of ECOWAS (Institutions, Agencies, Departments, Resident Representations).
- Create a platform for young graduates to contribute to the implementation of key ECOWAS programs.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Young graduates will gain professional experience essential for their careers through their involvement in ECOWAS programs.
- Young graduates will contribute to the successful implementation of ECOWAS programs.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Young graduates from the fifteen (15) ECOWAS Member States who are aged 32 years or younger.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Must be a national of an ECOWAS Member State.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate, or equivalent degree.
- Submission of the following documents is required:
- A request addressed to the ECOWAS Commissioner for Human Development and Social Affairs (DHAS), describing the candidate’s motivation, interests, preferred profile, desired immersion location, and commitment to the program’s terms.
- A Curriculum Vitae (in PDF format).
- A copy of the national identity card or passport (in PDF or JPEG format).
- A copy of the academic diploma(s) or equivalent (in PDF format).
SELECTION TERMS AND PROCESS
- Program positions are defined with ECOWAS Departments and host structures before each program, allowing candidates to apply according to these needs.
- For 2025, 120 positions are available as per the attached list.
- The selection process will be conducted by a Technical Selection Committee.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted for further steps.
IMMERSION PROGRAM CONDITIONS
All conditions related to the program are detailed in the Terms of Reference attached to this call.
DURATION, LOCATION, AND CONDITIONS OF THE IMMERSION PROGRAM
- The immersion program lasts for up to 12 months (non-renewable).
- The program will take place in ECOWAS Departments, Agencies, Resident Representations, and Institutions, or any other location designated by ECOWAS.
- At the end of the immersion, the beneficiary must produce a report in three copies, distributed to the DHAS, the user department, and the graduate.
- The program’s operational details will be coordinated with the host structure.
- Participation in the program is mandatory in person or online (for those not residing in Abuja) for any information or program feedback meetings convened by the Program Coordination.
COORDINATION OF THE IMMERSION PROGRAM
The Education, Science, and Culture Directorate within the Human Development and Social Affairs Department of ECOWAS will coordinate the immersion program.
